Terms of service
Last updated 12 October 2026
These terms apply when you use VIBE finder, the website and app at vibefinder.co.za, and when you buy anything from us. VIBE finder is run by VIBE FINDER (Pty) Ltd ("we" and "us"); our company details are in section 12. By creating an account, listing an event or buying from us, you agree to these terms.
Terms that limit our responsibility, put a risk on you or ask you to cover costs are in bold, so you can find them easily. Please read them before you agree.
1. About VIBE finder
VIBE finder helps people discover events near them and helps organisers list and promote their events.
Events are organised by the people and businesses who list them, not by us. We do not sell tickets or take payment for events. Where an event has tickets, you buy them from the organiser or their ticket seller, on their terms.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account, and you confirm this when you sign up.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- You can close your account at any time in your account settings, or by contacting us.
3. Using VIBE finder fairly
When you use VIBE finder, you must not:
- break the law, or help anyone else to;
- post anything false or misleading, or anything hateful, threatening, harassing or sexually explicit;
- use someone else's name, photos or work without their permission, or pretend to be someone you are not;
- try to get around our checks or a suspension;
- collect other people's information from VIBE finder, or copy content from it in bulk with automated tools;
- interfere with VIBE finder, for example by overloading it or trying to reach parts you are not allowed to use.
4. Listing events
- If you list an event, you are responsible for it: that it is real, that its details are accurate and kept up to date, that you have the right to list and promote it, and that it is lawful and has the licences and permissions it needs.
- Some of what you add as an organiser is public: your organiser name and bio, your profile's web address, your website, and the contact email address and phone number you choose to show. Do not add anything you do not want people to see.
- You keep ownership of what you post. You allow us to store, show, copy and adapt it (for example, resizing an image) to run and promote VIBE finder while it is on VIBE finder, and to keep the records our privacy policy describes.
- We check listings before they go live, partly with automated tools. We may hold a listing for a person to review, ask you to change it, or remove it if it breaks these terms or the law. When we remove an event, we tell you why.
- Anyone can report a listing or an organiser to us. We review reports and decide what to do.
- A verified badge means we checked that you control the social account or website shown on your profile. It does not mean we vouch for your events.
5. Suspension
If you break these terms, we may suspend your ability to list events, or suspend your account so that it can no longer be used. We tell you when we do this. If you think we got it wrong, email support@vibefinder.co.za and a person will look at it again.
If a person on a Partner account is suspended, the events they created are hidden while the suspension lasts. If they are banned, they are removed from the account and the events they created are taken offline until the account owner checks them and publishes them again. If the account owner is suspended, every event on the account is hidden and the other people on it cannot act for it until the suspension lifts.
If your account is suspended for breaking these terms, we keep a coded record of its email address, even after the account is deleted, so that it cannot be used to sign up again. Our privacy policy explains this record.
6. Plans and payment
- Our prices are on our home page, in rand. VIBE FINDER (Pty) Ltd is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to the price shown. You pay the price shown when you buy.
- Payments are processed by Paystack. You give your card or Capitec Pay details to Paystack on its own payment page; they never reach us.
- A plan gives you the features listed for it, for the month or year you paid for. If you pay yearly, you pay for 10 months and get 12.
- People on a Partner account. On Partner, the account owner can invite up to two other people to create and manage events on the account. The owner chooses what each person may do, can change it or remove them at any time, and sees a log of what each person does. Only the owner can buy, change or cancel the plan, invite or remove people, or see billing, unless the owner allows a person to see it. Events the people you invite create belong to your account and are listed in its name, so these terms apply to them as they apply to you. If your plan no longer includes other people, they lose access at once and the events they created stay with your account.
- A monthly plan paid by card renews automatically each month, at the price in force on the day it renews, until you cancel. We email you 7 days before each renewal. Paystack keeps your card and gives us a token to charge it; we never hold your card number. You can turn automatic renewal off in your account at any time, and a plan paid by Capitec Pay or bank transfer is renewed by a payment link we email you instead.
- A yearly plan does not renew by itself. Between 40 and 80 business days before it ends we write to you with the end date, any change to price or plan contents that would apply afterwards, and your options: renew for a year, continue month to month, or let it end. If you choose nothing, it ends on its end date.
- You can change your plan at any time. Moving to a bigger plan takes effect at once, and the unused whole days of your current plan are credited against the new one. Moving to a smaller plan or cancelling takes effect at once too, and unused time is refunded as our cancellations and refunds policy sets out. If the smaller plan allows fewer events live at the same time than you have, the newest are hidden, not deleted, until you choose which stay live. An event with a running promotion is never hidden this way.
- Launch prices apply to plans and promoted periods bought on or before 31 March 2027. A plan bought at a launch price keeps that price until the end of the month or year you paid for. After that, the price that applies then is charged, and we tell you at least 20 business days before your price changes.
- We may change our prices for future periods. If a change affects a plan you have, we tell you at least 20 business days before it takes effect, and you may cancel before then without penalty.
- Our cancellations and refunds policy sets out how you can cancel and when you get money back. It forms part of these terms.
7. Promoted events
What you buy
A promoted period is 7 days during which one of your events is among the promoted events shown to people looking for events in its area, labelled "Promoted". Promoted periods come in three levels, Starter, Plus and Max, described on our home page. A higher level can appear in more kinds of search, and has a greater chance of being picked when several promoted events fit the same search. The promoted periods included with a plan are Starter periods on Pro and Plus periods on Partner.
Promoted events take turns. We do not promise a particular position, a number of views, or any result for your event.
Where promoted events appear
Every level appears among the results of searches that match the event, in the event's area, and on the map. Plus and Max also appear for people searching for the same kind of event on other dates, and Max also for people looking for anything on the same dates. When a promoted event appears for a search it does not match, it is marked so people can see why.
The rules for promoted events
A promoted event must:
- be real, and be organised by you or promoted with the organiser's permission;
- be described accurately;
- be lawful, with the licences and permissions it needs;
- not be about gambling; and
- where alcohol is served, promote the event, not an alcohol brand.
Most promotions start automatically. We hold a request for a person to look at when the event is not published or has been reported, when the account is suspended, or when one of your promotions was stopped for breaking these rules in the last 90 days; we then email you, usually within one business day. We may refuse a promotion that does not meet these rules, and we tell you why.
When it runs
A promotion starts on the date you choose. If we held it for review and it is cleared after that date, it starts on the day it is cleared and still runs for its full length. It stops when the event ends, even if days are left.
If your event is deleted, cancelled or taken down before the promotion starts, the promoted period goes back to your account.
Once a promotion has started, it is not refunded or given back, including if you cancel or delete the event. If it does not run as it should because of a fault or mistake on our side, we make it good as our cancellations and refunds policy sets out.
If a promoted event breaks these rules while it is running, we may stop the promotion. A person makes that decision and tells you why, and you can reply to us. The rest of that promotion is forfeited. Your other promoted periods, your plan and anything else you have paid for are not affected.
What you see
We show you how your promotion performed as counts, such as views and clicks, for your information. You never receive information about who saw your event.
8. Our responsibility to you
- We provide VIBE finder with reasonable care and skill.
- Events on VIBE finder are run by their organisers, not by us. We are not responsible for an event itself: whether it goes ahead, what happens there, or what an organiser charges or promises. Take any question about an event to its organiser first; you can also report it to us.
- VIBE finder may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance. We are not responsible for loss caused by that, except where the law makes us responsible or the loss was caused by our gross negligence.
- Where the law allows us to limit our responsibility, the most we are responsible for, for all claims arising from your use of VIBE finder, is the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
- If you list or promote an event and someone makes a claim against us because of your event, your listing or your breach of these terms, you are responsible for that claim and you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
- Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, or any other law that cannot be limited.
9. Your privacy
Our privacy policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms from time to time, for example when we add features or the law changes. If a change affects you, we tell you before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page shows when the terms last changed. A change never applies to something you have already paid for unless it is in your favour. If you do not agree to a change, you may stop using VIBE finder, and cancel a paid plan without penalty, before the change takes effect.
11. Complaints, disputes and the law
If something goes wrong, contact us first at support@vibefinder.co.za or 069 532 1731 and we will try to put it right. If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may approach the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (www.cgso.org.za) or the National Consumer Commission (thencc.org.za).
These terms are governed by the law of South Africa.

- Reviewing your order: before you confirm a purchase, the review step shows exactly what you are buying and its full price, and lets you correct or withdraw it.
- Your right to cancel: section 1 of our cancellations and refunds policy explains the 7-day cooling-off right under section 44 of the Act and when it applies.
- Access to information: our manual under the Promotion of Access to Information Act is at vibefinder.co.za/paia.html.
